The setting of Fingerbone and the lake were much different in the movie compared to the book. Fingerbone, in the book was a foreboding town. This place was known for its death and disasters, the description of the place was rather dreary and grim. The movie, however, made the place normal. The town was like any other town in the 1950's.
Scenes from the book and the movie could also be compared. For example, the fight between Lucille and Ruthie. In the movie the fight between them reminded me of my sisters when they were young: childish. The book, however, made the fight seem like it was a serious fight.
The final linkage between the book and the movie that I would consider comparing is the character Sylvie. Sylvie in the movie is much different to Sylvie in the book. In the book, Sylvie is an unstable character. On the other hand the movie, even though she's a bit odd, Sylvie was a stable character.
These are the three topics I am considering of doing. Of course, I will be going into depth with one of these topics; these were just general ideas of my option for a paper topic.
